For Day 9 of our 12 days of blogmas, here’s our review of the beautiful Huntington Library Gardens in Los Angeles, California and the Portland Japanese Garden in Portland, Oregon.
When life is busy, noisy, and stressful, a visit to a famous garden can alleviate and rejuvenate oneself.
These gardens are a great place for a nice stroll and to renew your connection with the natural world around you.
Bring your pollen allergy medication and your best nature outfits!
When should one visit this garden? We visited in the fall and the colors were warm and vibrant. I love fall, don’t you?
Every Japanese garden includes a tranquil gravel garden:
Adult ticket prices are $16.95 as of this writing.
We enjoyed visiting this garden in the fall. It was a short visit as we finished exploring in a couple of hours.
Want to know about Portland from donuts to shopping? My blog post on our adventure is here.
These gardens are epic (and so are the prices!) There’s much to explore from desert gardens to art museums.
Truly get lost in curated nature here:
We tried walking across the bridge but they block the entrance so it’s not possible to take a picture on there
*cue disappointed sighs from instagram folks* . If you look closely, you might see that the bridge is arched quite a bit!
Get so lost in the gardens that you want to *become one of the plants*
Can you spot
what doesn’t belong?
Everything is as it should be in this picture, right? 🙂 I don’t see Jo anywhere, do you? 🙂
The trees are quite majestic here! Wouldn’t you love to read a book or play a guitar under this tree?
Ticket prices are around $25 for adults. It’s free the first Thursday of every month.
I hope that I’ll look back on these pictures and feel a sense of relaxation and tranquility. Wouldn’t you?
