1. Water plants! If you’re gone for more than a day, you may need a self-watering mechanism. We have used wine bottles fitted with a terra cotta tip that’s inserted into soil. It slowly releases water over time. You can find one on Amazon here.

If you’re traveling internationally, you always gotta bring your

• passport
• Priority Pass Lounge card*
• Global Entry*

Don’t even think about packing anything else until you have your passport taped to your forehead or to the inside of your front door so that you don’t forget this precious key to the gloriousness of the world.

And have a cellphone that enables you to make international calls or get a prepaid plan.

*These items are things I consider as luxury items. Priority pass enables you to access special lounges at airports if they have them. The global entry card also enables me to go pre-check at airports (zipping through security lines, woohoo!) and expedite customs. I have these—why? It makes traveling much more efficient. and I’m all about efficiency. And I mean to do no harm to global citizens of the world. I obtained the priority pass and global entry through a special credit card  =)
